The Dress

I have never loved a dress more than this one! But it is time to pass it along to make someone else's day as special as it made mine. The dress is pretty stunning on the hanger but absolutely magic when put on. The way it is cut is so flattering and form fitting in just the right way (not too tight). Rue De Seine take the most amazing care and do the most gorgeous lace work. The detail and quality of lace is truly beautiful (so many compliments). My favourite part of the dress are the keyhole back and the subtle lace detail on the waist giving you that elegant "sinched" look. I opted for the shorter slip so that my legs were visible. Perfect mix of sexy yet elegant.

The material is made up of 40% cotton and 60% lace with a 100% silk satin thigh length slip. It is a crochet and mesh embroidered gown with a keyhole back, long sleeves and is a beautiful silhouette fit with a slight train. I bought it as a sample (never worn) wore it once and had it dry cleaned. It is in perfect condition!

I had a few alterations done to it to make it even more perfect. Details below.

1) Had 4 buttons added at the top of the key hole so I could step into the dress. Turned out to be a genius idea. This meant I could do hair and make up and not have to put the dress over my head like it was originally made.

2) I shortened the arms slightly. Originally the cuff went to past my knuckles which was a bit too long for me. I had them take it up to end just in between my wrist and knuckle line. Turned out to be the perfect length. Still gives you that Victorian ethereal vibe, but you can hold a glass properly :-)

3) Had them sow the slip to the dress so that it would not ride up or get out of shape when standing back up from sitting down.

4) Had hook for train put on so I could put the train up later in the night when I wanted to dance.
